Jeff's routine is a good direct routine well within the reach of beginners and an excellent jumping off point that isn't the cups and balls (but is related).

I would suggest most people perform it in their own persona, as while the Commedia del'Arte performance is nice, it'd only be suitable for certain audiences or venues in my opinion (the routine however would be great everywhere).

Re: squeakers - yes, it will add an extra dimension to your work and it's great to see. I wish Jeff had more about getting it into your mouth and more ideas - but he gives you an excellent way to do it, great resource tips and let's face it the real work's when you play with your routines and see where you can work it in.
