Effect: A nicely decorated big box is introduced. When opened a big clock is seen mounted inside the box. But this clock only has the hour hand. The spectator is asked to mentally select any hour between 1 and 12. He is told not to select a time with minutes, just the hour.

After the selection has been made the spectator is instructed to turn the hand to said time (Magician steps away so he can not see the time). The box is then closed and locked. The magician comes forward. Lifts the box in hand and shows all sides of the box to the spectator saying that the box is totally closed and there is no way to know what hour the hand is on.

The spectator inspects the box and confirms that it is impossible for anyone to tell the time. Leaving the box on the table the performer now asks the spectator to think of the tome he selected. He is further asked to concentrate his thinking deeply on that particular time.
The performer then reads the mind of the spectator and announces the time. The box is opened to reveal the time the performer announced seconds before!

The Item Is colorful, much larger than I anticipated and fairly well made. I found that the audible sound (though modest) heard when moving the base mounted dial compromised the modus operandi when performing the method of having a spectator choose a random time and the clock magically matching said time upon opening it up. The alternate method of having the time set by spectator and performer identifying it afterward is unaffected by this aspect due to noise being naturally associated with the forced hand movement by spectator. Overall the design is clever. The position of the pedestal / dial is opposite actual chosen time; Very sneaky.
