If there is one thing we all have in common it's that everybody wishes they could predict the Lottery and with odd of almost 14,000,000 to 1 it seems very unlikely!

Lottery fever is a worldwide phenomenon and there was a time you couldn't walk in to a shop without seeing some novelty way of generating your numbers.

The Lottery Deck is one of those ways. The idea is simple, mix the deck, select six cards and take you chance! BUT what if nothing was left to chance? What if you could actually predict the lottery?

Based on an idea by Mark Elsdon (the rights to which were purchased by Alakazam almost 10 years ago) The Alakazam team have added a new design, more kickers, new handlings and new ideas!

Against All Odds is a custom designed and printed deck which looks perfect in every way.

Basic Effect
After a very fair mixing and selection procedure (no equivoque) you spectator is left with 6 cards each depicting a different number lottery ball.

You now hand them a Lottery ticket with exactly the same numbers on! (The ticket may even be handed to them before the effect even begins)

Against All Odds has taken this incredible plot and made the selection process seem so free and fair, Your spectator will suspect nothing and feel like they have made every decision themselves yet, "The Numbers Will Always Match Perfectly"!

First off, this was made for the lottery system in the UK so their number system may not work for you. The trick is easy to perform and requires almost no skill.

Unfortunately, there is no DVD included to teach you the trick. You have to download it yourself. Likewise there is no fake lottery ticket included, or even a way to print one off yourself. Instead, you are told to go buy a lottery ticket with the numbers they give you. Ok, except they don't do the lottery in my state so it's not something I can just run out and buy. I know I can just try some image manipulation on something from the internet, but for this price I shouldn't have to. I realize including a DVD and a piece of paper like a lottery ticket would have driven production costs up at least fifty cents, they should have just sucked it up and done it. For this price, a partial effect is inexcusable.

I held back one star only because you can't truly demonstrate that the deck is mixed (ie. with a shuffle) and on my third ever demonstration of this effect, I had a lay person ask a question about the deck (which I won't say here for the sake of protecting the secret), but their guess was right. I of course avoided answering truthfully and instead pointed out that they had cut the deck as many times as they liked and still selected six separate numbers. A fun trick with friends...likely will not use this in any of my professional performances.

I saw there was a pretty critical review, so I felt a need to counter. I have nothing to do with this effect. However, this is a great effect!

It doesn't matter what lotto numbers they have in the UK versus anywhere else on the planet. There are so many versions of lottery that this works just fine. Also, you don't need to go out and purchase anything. In fact, it is much better for you to write down random numbers as if they are the numbers drawn and let the participant represent the numbers they picked to play the lotto. You are now making the participant the potential winner, instead of yourself.

The beauty of this effect is you can do it close-up, impromptu, strolling, or on stage. Also, by applying the techniques, you could create your own routine. I have created a routine where I made up a few of my own decks, using the principles of this effect and I use deck switches with repeat performances.
