My ode to legend of magic Héctor René Lavandera, known as René Lavand. A ring routine that is all performed 1 handed, with a KILLER ending they never see coming.

Begin the routine showing both hands empty. One hand goes into your pocket. The remaining hand performs miracles! A ring appears on one finger, only to move time and again to other fingers. This is visual magic at its best, and it looks amazing.

The ring vanishes, only to be found on the hand that's been in its pocket the entire time! Finally, you toss the ring in the air, and it lands directly on your finger. Unbelievable!!

Download the video and learn this remarkable routine.

This routine is a beautiful tribute to René Lavand, using a single ungimmicked and completely examinable ring. The very visual magic moments follow in a natural progression but still hold surprises for your spectators. The moves are very straightforward, so while they'll require some practice to achieve muscle memory, they don't require significant skill.

My only criticism is that the quality of the video was surprisingly poor. Justin uses a black ring, a black shirt and pants, a black table, and a black backdrop, competing against a bright lamp. This makes the ring harder to see, and causes the camera to fight for focus. This is all confusing since the routine doesn't rely at all on color, lighting, or surfaces. He also didn't silence his phone, so I kept pausing the video because I thought I was getting a call. There are also abrupt cuts from one take to another, which don't affect the teaching but are visually jarring. I don't want to seem petty, but a commercial video should not have these issues.

Still, this routine is definitely worth the price and a nice change of pace from coins for close-up.
