The trailer with the instantaneous change is what really happens! This gets 5 stars for the design, and another 5 for the routine.

The instructions are thorough, with an optional 3 part routine that's varied enough not to be repetitive.

After the instant solve, the surface will look odd at a certain angle, but a quick toss to show the other sides will avoid it. The clean up has two simple versions, then the cube can be handed out.

The gem at the end of the instructions are the two friends/magicians discussing other ways to present or modify the cube. It's incite to what makes a great magician.

You're going to need to know how to solve a cube. You or a spectator is going to scramble it. YouTube has some simple, but not speedy, solves. The first two layers are easy to get down. You might need a cheat sheet for the top layer, but you will be able to solve any mix.

Very, VERY clever. Though it's easy to use, this is one of those products that you benefit from practice in order to make it look less like a gimmick and more like real magic. As far as needing to be able to solve a cube? It's not a technical requirement to use the Insta gimmick, but getting this has started me down the road to learning to do just that. The video is top notch and does teach some handling equivalent to a false shuffle, and it was something I got down (not mastered) within a few minutes. BUT. Be prepared to screw up these moves which is why you should probably learn how to get a cube into a solved state. I'm using the free Android app Cubex for restoration now, but there are many other apps out there. This is one of my most satisfying purchases ever.
