I used to work in a Theatre Magic magic shop. I handed it out on multiple occasions and the gimmick was never found. That's only after te wallet was broken in though, I wouldn't do it straight out of the package, which should only take about a week.

That being said, I feel that this is something that should only be done on an offbeat, the wallet should be away and you should be moving on before they ever really have an opportunity to ask to see it.

In the extended promo visible, the presenter says that the wallet is examinable, but then goes on to add, "But I've never actually done that," or words to that effect.

I'm of the school that you only raise suspicion when you invite the audience to examine some props and not others.

I've owned and used the originial Theatre Magic Fire Wallet for several years. In addition to letting it be closely looked at on many occasions, I once had a spectator grab it out of my hands and examine it thorougly. I wouldn't do that as a general rule, but he found nothing.

I don't, but mostly because part of my 'schtick' is pretending to be afraid of my wallet after it bursts into flames. I'll drop it, or hold it out at arms length. I'll make a comment like, "My God, did you just see that?" or "Sh**, what the f### was that?" Most people wouldn't hold it if I asked them to.
