Daryl was known for sleight so well timed and second nature, you never think, "he's doing a move." Instead his personality and natural charisma dominate the magic. You know he's doing magic, but nobody cares how he's doing it.

He was a contemporary of the 80's rising young stars: M. Ammar, P. Harris, D. Roth, etc. and every bit as skilled as them, but he excelled them in performance persona. You can see his style being inspiration for David Williamson who added his own madcap nature and made himself a legend with it.

What's more, Daryl was a master teacher of magic. His course on card sleights and sponges are unequaled. You watch him and wonder if you can do what he just did, then his teaching is so clear and ego free, you just take in the method.

We lost him too early and too tragically. His impact should not be forgotten and his courses must not be skipped.
