“If you want to be a better mentalist, you owe it to yourself to attend Mark’s classes” – Michael Murray
Minimalistic Mentalism is the result of years of study about how to integrate classic, old-school mentalism methods with the modern, propless ideal with its less-is-more attitude into a seamless approach to performance. Recognizing that there is a common thread which unites these two methodologies, these exclusive classes provide a filter through which to examine the best of both worlds and gain access to the most powerful techniques and material available.
In Minimalistic Mentalism Mark draws on his 30 years of experience as a performer, creator, writer and most importantly as a student to provide an illuminating, interactive guide to the essential presentations, tricks and props that deserve to be added to your repertoire immediately.
Setting The Scene.
Presentations, stories and hooks that demand attention, sustain interest and convert momentary amazement into long-lasting mystery. Those that tell the best stories win. And those that tell the most memorable stories get re-booked!
Forces and peeks. Wallets and pads. Gadgets and gaffs. Sleights and subterfuge. A full discussion of (almost) everything that’s out there. The good, the bad and the laughably impractical. And, of course, the must-haves.
This is the key skill that transforms demonstrations into performances. An analysis of how to create and perform reveals with maximum impact, using multiple examples from across the world of mentalism, past and present.
A statement of intent. A call-to-arms. A manifesto.
The real secrets that will elevate your performances to a whole new level. A level of authenticity and believability that can make anything you perform become incredibly powerful. You will learn how to make tricks into stories and experiences that your audience will never forget.
Throughout all 4 classes Mark will also be sharing many of the results of his personal mentalism studies over the last decade: the 6 killer tricks he always carries in his wallet, his all-time favourite walkaround opener (including the full presentation), the best playing card mindreading he has ever seen (and you can learn immediately), the best book-test, best design dupe, best apps, best Penguin lectures and tons more.
Study the theory, learn the tricks, slay your audience!
"Mark Elsdon is my secret weapon. Well, he was until I told you about him. He's the first, and usually only, person I turn to when I get stuck. Why? Because he constantly finds unique and practical solutions to creating astonishing magic. The man's brain is a goldmine of quality ideas and material. And when not solving Rubik's cubes, one handed... whilst wearing a blindfold, he's out in the real world presenting this stuff live on stage and for performers on TV. Mark does that rare thing and gives away so much in a lecture. So take a notepad and pay attention." - Colin McLeod
"Mark Elsdon is a renaissance man in magic. He is equally adept at inventing, performing, creating, and theorizing about magic. He consults for television, lectures, and performs, all with equal proficiency. And, he's one of my favorite guys to watch." - Joshua Jay
"Mark Elsdon is on a very short list of magic and mentalism's most creative innovators. When Mark lets me in on what he's working on, I'm ALWAYS fooled badly and find something to add to my own work." - Bill Abbott
"Mark is one of the most creative magicians or mentalists I know, with a depth of knowledge and an inherent understanding of what can turn a simple trick into a powerful mind-**** for laymen." - Quentin Reynolds
"Mark gives one of the most inspiring lectures I’ve ever seen. I envy you seeing him for the first time." - Marc Oberon
