From the creative mind of Adrian Carratala comes this linking finger rings effect using borrowed rings. A concept that is always ready to go and can be performed as a routine by itself, or in combination with your favourite himber ring routine. You can perform it anytime anywhere, but note that the illusion have been developed for parlour situations so if you want to perform it on street you will have to manage your audience.

This are the strong points:

. No magnets, threads or wires are used.

· Rings are really borrowed, they are always in plain sight, they can be examined before and after the illusion and you never switch them. So no duplicates or fake rings are needed.

· Your hands can be shown clearly during the entire routine and you ends completely clean.

· Gimmicks are really easy and cheap to make, and once you have make them they will last you for a long time (about 500 performances). You can set them into your wallet to be always ready to go.

· You will learn 2 different handlings to perform depending on the situation.

Better than the Himber Ring Report this review

This is good for Stage as well as parlor - even close-up.

The advantages over the BOND gimmick is:

1) You have NO extra ring you have to "ring" in and out - you truly use just borrowed rings.

2) No "fiddling with the Himber ring to open or close it. Sure, a good performer can mask this well, but if you can avoid it, why not.

3) The audience never sees an "EXTRA" ring you bring in and out.

While there are ways to almost always avoid the audience realizing there is an extra ring in a stage performance why bother? Depending on the size and position of the crowd in parlor magic, this could be an issue, and in close-up it ALWAYS is an issue.

The advantages over the Himber Ring is:
1) It is more examinable while linked - the issue in close-up and to an extent parlor, is they will notice you are ringing in and out another ring

2) It is not as "angley" - although this really only applys in close up, and possible parlor magic.

All in all, the effect is the same, but I will feel more comfortable with this method the vast majority of the time.

I have used the Himber (or Stagg) ring, and have yet to use this method, but I am very confident, and will probably be doing this effect a lot more with the BOND method.

Excellent, semi-practical illusion Report this review

You could pay a lot for a good linking finger ring trick. But this one is quite inexpensive and uses borrowed rings with no switching!

It's semi-practical because 1) it requires "arts and crafts" and 2) it is more well suited for parlor/small stage rather than walk around.

1) The "arts and crafts" part is VERY easy, but will require a trip to the office supply store. He takes you step by step - easy, easy, easy!

2) Distance and lighting are an issue, and he reinforces this toward the end. During walk around, that could be an issue. He recommends about six feet. I think this will work into my birthday party show (parlor).

this is one of a kind. its extremely visual and you can build 250 gimmicks in less than five minutes.the only problem with this is that it is a bit angle sensitive but still i wont cut any marks for that because it depend on your audience managment skills but the trick is very safe for parlours.after all again a great purchase from penguin and a great trick too.

I don't buy downloads other than lectures often. I usually end up dissapointed. Wow is this not the case with this one. Holy cow this is a great concept I've never seen before. Practical and very visual, everything the ad says is true. I honestly couldn't believe it but it's all true. Honestly this should have been a dvd.

Bond link another day Report this review

This effect is beautiful, it’s a classic premise and looks clean. This is a parlour effect and cannot be performed close up. This effect hold true to the ad copy, it use no magnets, threads or wires and the rings are never switched. Below are the pros and cons I have found with the effect so you can decide for yourself if Bond is something for you.
Pros:
Their only two rings used for the effect and both are borrowed
You start and end the effect clean
The add-on of the “extra” bit is natural and easy
The rings can be handed out immediately after being un-linked
The Gimmicks are really easy to make and very affordable
You are taught how to build everything for the effect including 3 different loaders

Cons:
Your audience has to be almost head on for the performance
The rings can’t be examined from all sides as with a Himber method
Distance and lighting affect the illusion

I believe Bod would be a great addition to a classic Himber based routine. After the first ring is given back, the last two can be linked cleanly and openly and immediately handed back. This use of the final clean link would end the Himber routine nicely.

What I've been looking for! Report this review

I've been searching for a linking ring routine to add into some of my stand up shows for some time now. I was so close to spending hundreds of dollars on a solution and then I saw this. This is what I have been looking for. No complicated gimmicks and cheap to perform and learn. This will be going into my stand up shows for sure. It's so clean. Love it!

Even if you have an expensive mechanical ring for doing the Linking Finger Rings, you will want to know this method; just in seeing how simple and clever it is will give you tons of inspiration for doing a far more impossible linking ring routine, using the gaffed ring far less than you would normally consider doing; replacing that work with this simple, practical approach.

Wow, this is really good. I do the Linking Finger Rings in my stand-up act, but for close-up, this is the most amazing version I've seen. I can't wait to try it out in my shows. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star rating is that the rings don't actually link and can't be handed out for examination, but if done briskly, I don't think that will be an issue.
