As someone who's no magician but does enjoy watching magic and theatre from time to time, this is a nifty little play that brings the two together. Definitely could see this being an entertaining and charming way to put on a magic show, kind of a light hearted The Prestige---along with some hilarious digs at Bakersfield, CA. Recommended!

As someone relatively unfamiliar with magic, this was an absolute joy to watch! Impressive!

What a great concept! This is a compact one-act drama with little dashes of humor and several opportunities for magic. The play suggests tricks that could be performed but is flexible enough to accommodate the tricks the performers feel comfortable with. I got a kick at the gentle digs at Bakersfield, but they also could be changed to suit the local audience. I'd love to see this performed! As an added bonus, the author has included his original script that inspired the magic play. If you're into creative writing, it's interesting to compare the two versions to get a glimpse into the writing process. Recommended!

This is a complete stage performance, with a little magic but mostly it is a light drama play. It is interesting and may give you an idea to add to a routine, create a routine of your own, or start memorizing lines and do it as written.
