I seldom use a close up pad since much of my work is done strolling in cocktail situations, however during our current situation with the COVID-19 I am doing a lot of online magic. I borrowed a pad from a friend but I really wanted one of my own. I can not speak more highly about the quality and service that Penguin Magic delivers. The Pad is of superior quality but if that is not enough the service that the people at Penguin Magic offer is second to none. Penguin is now my first go to online magic store.

Perfect softness
Great value for money
I got black and green, but I need to get a smaller size for different situations. This size is great for home practice and when you have a table.
Best value for money pad IMO

I absolutely love this pad! It is super thick, yet can roll up nicely to fit in my box. The black one, which I purchased, covers up thread from a reel, like a tarantula. I use it for my cups and balls (my favorite trick. Purchase the penguin cups) the balls on the pad are silent and it prevents the cups from being dinged. I think it is great for a matrix effect too.

I was using a sub-par memory foam bath mat before this. I started looking for close up pads and this one had lots of great reviews. Let me just say that it is awesome! Easy to keep clean, you can roll it up and it springs back to flat again.. I was worried it would be too thick, based on the other two versions of thickness, but I am glad I chose this one... it's great. I am using it for Cups & Balls, Chop Cup and a bunch of random card tricks, and I love it!

The pad is a good size for travel. I am able to roll it up and it keeps it shape and does not separate. I have had no problems with any snags when using it for 3 shells or Fast and loose. It is a little short for my fast and loose chain but that is minor. I haven't had it to long so I can say anything about longevity, but it has a quality built and feel.
