I found these somewhat disappointing because they don't quickly spring back into shape after being compressed. I understood from the description that these are not like "Super-Soft" sponge balls (or even regular sponge balls) in terms of how much they can compress down, but the main thing that is disappointing about these sponge tennis balls is that they do not immediately expand back to their normal round shape after having been compressed. There's a delay as they expand outward to resume their normal round shape. They can also tend to be a little lopsided looking after having been compressed for a while , unless you give them a few quick squeezes after they expand to help them resume their round shape (but of course you don't want to do that in front of an audience, because squeezing them will reveal them as compressible balls, not real tennis balls)

Also, be aware that these are slightly larger than normal tennis balls , which are 2.5" in diameter. These are 2.75" (which , to be fair, is noted in the description) , but that extra 0.25 diameter means you can't switch them with a real tennis ball. The size difference is noticeable. If you only use the sponge tennis balls and don't display them side-by-side with real tennis balls they will look realistic enough from stage. I think without having the real tennis ball to compare it to most people would never notice the size difference at stage distance.

These are ok. Not bad, but not great.
