The effort undertaken to produce this tutorial deserves the respect of a fair review, no matter what the price is. And yes - is a FREEBIE.

As advertised, this is a Vanish - not a routine. As advertised, it is using a washer as the object to vanish. The move is both shown and explained clearly. The commentary is relevant. I too seek moves that do not look traditionally "fishy"

I like this as an addition to my arsenal of impromptu effects and utility moves - I can think of so many situations it could be of use, especially when put on the spot to show a trick. It is something a little different to coinwork and I am grateful for this tutorial.

A great opener for some rubberband work too - think ring effects with a washer... or check out some other tutorials involving washers.

I have no problem with this video, the effect, or the teaching. A washer is an organic item, which makes for a better reaction from the audience, but it's still not something that is commonly available in any given performing situation. You're still going to have to introduce it somehow.

So this is a move with a washer Alvo Stockman created, that is all, you get what you pay for or didn't.
Thanks for the time creating this and sharing. I was hoping it was something I could put alongside Holey Moley/Holey Stretch,it wasn't, they use different size washers.
I then thought I could just do this routine along side it anyway,do a whole washer set, but couldn't because it's just a move and not a routine. Appreciate the efforts Alvo but thought you would step with a bit more at least show some of the coin routines it works with, for those lacking imagination I am thinking a spellbound production to a vanish.

It's fun. it's clean. As for routine, incomplete. Which is why I give it 3.5 stars.

It's extremely simple to learn, which I loved. It's smart, and like I said looks very clean. I enjoy it and was able to do it the second I picked up the right washer (which you really can buy anywhere that sells hardware).

The problem that I have with it is it seems incomplete. There are other tricks out there with washers, but this vanish won't work with them (Ie. Holy Moly).

Props to Alvo for thinking of this, and it is fun as a single trick. I'd use it at a party, or while helping someone move in, or while helping them repair or build something. That's about it.

This is NOT a new, revolutionary concept but a MUCHO easy retention vanish allowed using the properties of a prop EVERYONE has. I really, really like this one and the video was entertaining within itself.

Plus, Alvo has a way of getting you to think of other, cool uses for tricks and routines with random objects; so, if they do raise the price for this, it will STILL be worth it for the value of the added creativity.

I like it. I think it will be especially useful for those who work with coins. For example, turn a coin of one denomination into another, then into a Chinese coin with a hole in the center. And then turn a Chinese coin into this puck and then show a series of manipulations with it. I recommend this seminar.

Great idea. Would have liked a bit more detailed instruction and/or footage of the move.

This is a retention vanish that doesn't seem practical or have any reason for why you have a washer. If you need a retention vanish learn a normal retention vansih.

Short but sweet

Alvo has a point in this download, these false movements that we do as magicians can really lessen the impact of a vanish or other effect.

We should really strive for "economy of motion" and if we eliminate all these sneaky looking moves from our performances that we'll all be better for it.

It was Dai Vernon who said that if there was no false moves, then you'd have a good effect. Doing it with a washer helps!
