"That is f***ing GENIUS" - Steven Palmer

"I have never seen anything like that - Clever and practical! Congratulations!" - Pablo Amira (Amira's Ideas)

"There's only one thing I enjoy more than a night of good company in my Bachelor pad, and that's having my socks blown off by a piece of magic or mentalism. It occasionally happens with an effect, but very rarely with a method. This is a thing of true beauty!" - Tom Mullenger (Jester Styles)

"A great peek that ramps up the impossibility and addresses the issues with the classic center tear. I'll be using this!" - Jordan Murphy (JMauthentics)

A participant writes or draws something on a blank card, which is folded into quarters. The billet is stapled around all of the edges making a peek of the information impossible; yet you know what is written.

There’s no bubbling or distorting of the information, the information is presented clearly and right into the performers line of sight with justification.

There are no impression devices used, no magnets, no sticky stuff or mirrors.

With some simple preparation that will become like second nature to you, you are ready to go and present this incredible piece of impossible mentalism.

One star is still too much. When I watched the video, I asked myself, if Penguinmagic released it as an April joke. This is an unusable pipedream.
As a working magician with over 35 years of stage experience, I know one thing for sure: "What can go wrong, will go wrong!"
If a spectator touches the paper, you're busted.
I still can't believe, I paid for that. End of review.

Has been said before don't think the set up is worth the result. Easier ways to to get the same outcome

Interesting idea, but it requires the magician to handle the billet a little too much for my taste. The stapling also feels a little superfluous and unnecessary. I will not use this.

I'd never use Report this review

I'd say that this method is the most convoluted and complicated way to do Acidus Novus I've ever seen. Handing out the card (gimmicked) afterwards, is asking for inspection.

Very clever Report this review

The method for peaking the information inside the stapled billet is very clever and usable. However you can't leave the spectator with the stapled billet after the effect is over which I found disappointing. Stapling the billet in the first place adds a dramatic element of impossibility to the effect and I feel that the spectators would want to look at it after the prediction is made. That being said, as a seasoned magician I will find use for this method. Dee Christopher goes over the construction of the gimmick as well as how to use it in great detail. The thing that the download lacks is how to give a proper performance of the effect. He does show you a full performance of stapled however he doesn't go over how to present the effect to the spectator once you have made your peak and know the name of the person. For that reason if you're new to mentalism I would stay away from this one. However, if you have been doing mentalism for a long time and you want to add a new peak to your arsenal that is very clever then add to cart.

Not All Its Hyped Up To Be Report this review

It's an interesting idea but has a lot of disadvantages that the center tear does not. I won't be using it. Learn a center tear and you will be far better off.

It's not what I was expecting Report this review

I was interested in seeing if this would be worth adding to my arsenal.

The method is unique but painstaking.

As a working pro, I don't have time to make the necessary materials to do the effect.

I go from gig to gig and if I run out, then I can't do the "stapled" effect (with word of mouth, future audiences will be anticipating this) which in turn is a let down for future clients.

Also the stapler and the staples take up pocket space that I would much rather have something else in.

This isn't the HOLY GRAIL you all are looking for.

Yes it's impossible to the eyes of laymen...but I just don't have the time to sit down and make the items required all day just to read someone's mind.

If you are really (and I mean REALLY) perfect in DIY projects, this is something for you.

Otherwise, not so skilled craftsman like myself and probably many of you will be severely disappointed.

This will NEVER replace any billet switch or CT that I currently use.

I'm not a fan of this one. Lucky me I got it at the introduction price. If you want to get this one, be aware that this is not a relacement for a nice center tear: It will require the same amount of manipulation from your part and the effect is almost the same. However with Stapled you need to construct the gimmick (you need one gimmick for each performance) and also you need to carry a stapler with you.

I will stay with the center tear.

GOOD EFFECT... Report this review

This is GREAT, just a bit too arts and craftsy for me. That said, you get everything you need in the download and everything was covered in detail. Another great effect from Dee Christopher, just not for me.

so I love the secret and for only five dollars it’s pretty much worth it.
The one thing I don’t like is the instructional video it to me wasn’t very clear on how to set up this effect but through some trial and error you should be able to figure it out
Overall pretty good purchase definitely would recommend
