These are great cards to add to your collection and to preform with. They actually are my second favorite decks to handle, second to the bicycle elite edition deck. So smoooooth

I have bought decks of all the colors available in order to do various color-change / multicolor packet tricks such as Double Chameleon, Spin Doctor, Restless Colors, etc.

I used three jacks from this gold deck along with a queen and a joker from the silver deck to do "Montinator". I also used one of the aces from this gold deck for "Spin Doctor" along with aces from the silver deck, a blue deck, and a red deck.

I noticed that with regular handling just from practicing, the gold back of the ace was starting to turn greenish on the sides. The cards from the other decks showed no wear at all.

So I swapped it out for a different ace. It didn't take long before I noticed that yet again the area on the back where you put pressure on the card to push off was losing the gold color and turning greenish. The aces from the other color decks are still perfectly fine.

Ditto for the gold deck jacks from the Montinator packet. The cards from the silver deck are like new, and they get handled more in the Montinator trick than the three gold cards. But even with less handling, the three cards from the gold deck are starting to turn greenish on the backs.

The ink from the gold deck simply doesn't hold up well to the kind of handling involved in packet tricks (multiple pushoffs, Elmsley counts, etc).

So... I would NOT recommend this particular color for packet tricks. They look great, but they don't last.

Can't go wrong with a bike deck. The metallic gold on the back is nice, too. Other than that, identical jokers are always useful, and comes with 2 gaffs cards, too. Can't find this deck at a better price anywhere else

For You Magician's Who won't use anything but Red Backed Bikes you have no reason to Fear this Beautiful Deck.. The Same Court Cards and Pips We Love but a Higher Quality Control Standard than Your Wal-mart and Costco Standard Bikes. If You use Faro Shuffles as a Card Control You Won't be Disappointed as the Edges are Perfectly Cut.

The attractive gold backs are not excessively metallic, so they’re a tastefully subdued gold. Contents (gaffs) did NOT match the ad photo. This came with two identical jokers and two gaffs, NOT the three with white, red and ochre/orange sides in the ad pic which presumably are gold-backed. I got a vertically split gaff and a bizarrely printed 3H with one pip off center and a Q index mark where the pip should have been. If you're a poker player it won't matter. If you do magic, which gaffs you get, the advertised ones or these oddities, will depend on your preferences. Bicycle does not include instructions for gaffs, so here are two simple ideas: The vertically split card should be sandwiched between others in a spread. Only one side will show. Lay it down face down in a straight ribbon on a non-slick surface, lift and flip the bottom card so it flips the whole set like dominoes, note the effect, and create a trick based on that. For the 3H/Q, force a normal Q with a break; have atop the deck a 3H and the gaff. While the spectator views their Q, make a break below the top two cards, then single or double lift (depending on your stack order) to show the regular 3H. Say now you’ll cause the deck to reveal their card by actually imprinting it on THIS card. Flip the 3H back down, do your favorite mumbo jumbo and SL or DL to get the gaff, ta daa!

Any time Bicycle makes a deck with semi-shine gold ink, it's always a treat. This one doesn't do anything special with the faces, but the card backs never fail to get an "oooh!" from anyone accustomed to red/blue backs. (myself included, every time!)

These cards are a great alternative to your 'standard' red and blue bikes. The color is vibrant, and quality control on these cards is great. Note: the 9 different 'colored' 807 rider backs currently sold on Penguin are not the 'V1' (OG color collection) of 9 decks which were sold years ago. These newer decks maintain the same vibrant colors (except brown is now gone, and black is the 808 box). One thing to note is that these newer decks were produced after the policy change for modifying Bicycle designs, meaning the gaffs supplied now are more "standard" like double backs and blanks, versus the cooler pip matrix cards and blurred faces which used to come with the decks. At this price, any of the colored decks are a must-buy IMO. I bought multiple bricks of every color.
