In this trick can one buy the gimmick or does one have to make it, I am about 40 miles from any shops and none of them deal in magic.

great question! This trick uses a VERY simple prop that you probably already have lying around the house. It can be found in any drug store so there's no need to make the trek out to your nearest brick and mortal.
