Not exactly. But sometimes you may need to "rearrange the cards" a bit under the spectator's nose without drawing their suspicion. This happens before they really know what's going on though, and you can probably pull it off if you're confident and don't make a big deal about it.

It is self-working for the most part. There is an option to perform a little bit of equivoque at one point but Paul gives you an alternative way to handle it. The ability to shuffle, and fan a deck are all that is needed.
