Can Rip & Fold be done without a table?

The trick (and reviews) look incredible, but can it be done in a standup set surrounded by a crowd? Could the rip/fold lines be drawn, for instance, if the card was facedown on the back of the deck just like the way they're first signed on the face?

Yes, the table helps so that you have your hands free but it can be done without a table if you need to do it like that.
