Hey @notscott...what's up?
Just happen to log on for a moment and, lo and behold....ta da! Slow day at the office ;-)
Both tricks are good.
Acknowledging that I don't know what 'level' of a performer you are, let's address your 'either or' question this way...
Tornado is a great effect. It is very easy to learn/perform (just two cards) and, as with most of Rick and Justin's 'stuff', the reactions are very strong.
Once rec'd, you'll be performing that evening and garnering kudos, props, and admiration...lol.
Note: you'll need refills (card gaffs) for this trick, but they are reasonably priced here at PM
In re: Lockjaw.
Yes, a neat effect, but more for the intermediate level.
Right off the bat...Pierric is doing a 'card spring' that, although an easy flourish, most can't do it. Easy to learn... good tutorials all over YouTube, but you'll have to practice.
Is that a 'bad' word for you (practice)? Just kidding!
Plus, with one variation, he's pulling that signed card out of his mouth...don't recommend taking signed cards off the bar and sticking them in your face(mouth)...uggghhh!
Oh, that's another point...since it's in the video and I'm not saying anything too revealing in this public forum, can you do a 'mercury fold'?
Ah, to be fair, you have to put the corner of one card in your teeth for a moment w/Tornado.
So, in conclusion, my recommendation goes to...(drum roll please)...Tornado.
But, you probably knew that already.
In closing, don't forget to check out the reviews... especially the not so flattering ones, if there are any.
Good luck!
