The Little Hand was created by Bob Farmer. This is what he says about it:
"For the record, I think Franken-Doh is a great idea which is why it is being marketed with my endorsement."
There is also a clear difference in the effect. In one a baby hand randomly appears between the magician's hands and steals the coin. In the other, the putty comes alive and creates a hand itself. It then engulfs the coin.
Honestly, if you removed the little hand the effect would still be incredible and original. This is what the trick looks like without the little hand:
1. A coin is borrowed and signed. It is placed aside and could even be held by a spectator.
2. A ball of clay is introduced by the magician and rolled into a ball by another spectator. The magician will not go near that ball of clay for the rest of the trick.
3. A classic vanish can be performed with the coin, and when the clay is opened up by the spectator they find their signed coin.
Just the above structure is new and unique enough to warrant release. The addition of the little hand is icing on the cake.
