How does Bipolar compare to Modern Flap Cards?

I've owned a couple of Hondo's Modern Flap Bicycle gimmicks and they are very fragile and had to toss them out after a dozen uses or more.

How does this compare in quality? Not a hands on craft DIY person.

This is considerably less complex than Hondo's flap card. The Bipolar gimmick is much easier to repair. It is also simple enough that you are taught all you need to know to make your own. No need to split cards, or glue anything together.
