Besides one of the best tricks, invisible deck, here are what I would pick:

I agree with the above comment for this being a current top 5 tricks. Mine are:

3 card monte (David Blaine version)
Loops (Yigal Mesika)
Angle Z (Daniel Madison)
Chaptrick (Calen Morelli)
And a 5th trick of my own creation

This is what most professionals actually do. I did for a long time until it got stale for me, so I then changed my sets more often. I don't think I could limit myself to just 5, so this question is mostly a "what are you top 5 effects?" post. That is hard to answer after 34 years of performing magic and a lot easier for beginners who have not been exposed to millions of tricks of 34 years.

Billet, word in a million, psypher, a card selection effect based on a Max Maven effect utilizing half a single card deck and half a regular deck, my adaptation of the invisible deck and my own version of the svengali deck; however, I frequently update tjese and combine these with others to keep a fresh set.
