I loved the Expo you had outside of Philly. It cost next to nothing, included free parking and had a top notch set of presenters. Of course the unwritten agreement was "We subsidize your learning experience, and you express your thanks by filling up at the product tables."

I don't know what Penguin's numbers looked like. But I can't imagine them losing money on it. At least at one I attended, the crowds were almost always several deep watching the demos, and buying product as fast as the dealer could swipe cards into his i-phone.

We loved the Expos and they were all successfull. We have amped up our game and are producing Penguin MAXX right now. This is a multi-day traveling convention that has everything you loved from the Expos and more. It's like the Penguin Expos on steroids.

Penguin MAXX is still new so it may not stick around in its current form but while it is around try attending, it should be awesome!

Any dates or locations? I don't see anything on the site. Best wishes for it, but I know from multiple conversations that attendees liked the Expo because you could get out of it for under $200 if you made the effort. I know that I made that effort and succeeded. Well, one out of three, anyway. And one was very close to the goal. It's an attractive selling point that may be lost with the bigger event. Or, perhaps, people will stick to a budget and just be even more selective, making your costs for producing it higher. I dunno......but I hope it works for everyone!
