There are many ways to change the taste of food...since so much of the 'taste' experience is visual...and aromatic.
For example, the cereal "Fruit Loops" has 6 colors (Red-Strawberry, Orange-Oranges, Yellow-Lemon, Green-Lime, Blue-Blueberry, and Purple-Grape).
Most would swear that they could taste lemons when eating the yellow ones, or grape when eating the purple ones yada yada yada.
However, it's well known that they are all the same, singular sweet flavor called "Froot" (spelling is correct) which is a blend of fruit flavors.
In fact, blindfold someone and ask them to tell you the taste of each 'loop'...remember, they are all the same ;-) It's a fun intro science experiment.
Another variant...if you have someone take a bite of a slice of apple (yummy) and then blindfold them, and 'plug their nose' to where they can't get any scent at all...then, give them a slice of onion to eat, they won't be able to tell whether they are eating an apple....or onion.
Honest, just another science experiment...
Try it...before someone makes a makes a presentation and calls it a 'magic' trick to sell you ;-)
Best wishes...
