Not sure what all the positive reviews are for. I bought this for my 6 year old daughter based on these reviews and I’m really disappointed. Not only are the tricks mostly stuff you learn on a playground he doesn’t really give a kid any way to present it other than “look what I can do, I’m smarter than you.” Which having now seen more of Gary’s stuff isn’t surprising because that seems to be the way he performs.

Also when he is in the studio with the young lady he comes off as the uncle that is paying attention to his niece for the wrong reasons. He was surprised when she knew how to do some of the tricks like she was supposed to be there as eye candy only and couldn’t possibly be intelligent. She also appears uncomfortable and I don’t blame her. I kept waiting for him to try to goose her.

Overall really disappointed and felt cringy for a bunch of reasons the whole time. He is a magician who time has left behind and he has not aged well.

In my opinion don’t buy.

I just finished watching this DVD. I felt that if I was going to write a review, I had better watch the whole thing. I read the reviews that were here first and this one actually captured what I needed to say, only a little bit nicer. This is a great DVD for a parent or teacher who wants to teach their child or class some magic. I don't think this works very well if you just give it to a child. It's very monotone and monochromatic. The stuff Gary presents needs to be parented-up to make it interesting for children. And then there is the creepy feeling you get listening to Gary talk to/about his assistant, which might be better used for a different kind of conversation with your children. Magic ideas are very good, execution is lack luster and boring.
