First, there are two performances filmed in the instructional video, one by Josh Burch (I presume)
and one by Dan Harlan. I don't understand why the version Josh did was not explained: especially how
he manipulated the cards he was holding so quickly using only one hand! His version only used 4
cards, while Dan's used 5 cards. If you watch the sales video closely you should notice some
discrepancies that an observant spectator, i.e. one that is not inebriated, could very easily pick
up on if they followed the instructions they are given closely. It is a clever routine, but one that
CAN be figured out by someone who pays close attention.
Hey there, Josh Burch here. My explanation is included in the download. There are two instructional videos included with the price of the download, one with Dan Harlan and one with me Josh Burch.
I teach a way to end clean and examinable. I also generally only use five cards and make one vanish, or Dan uses six cards and makes one vanish.
Concerning the "discrepancies" you talk about, this is part of the princess card trick, hence the name of the trick. If you're having problems in that regard I recommend showing the cards for less time at the beginning of the trick.
If you are giving your audience enough time to memorize all five cards you're showing them the cards for too long. At the conclusion of the trick the emphasis should be that there are only four cards left, Not that any of the cards have changed in value.
It should be noted as well that this is not a great trick for video, if you're spectator can rewind. Some magic tricks should not be repeated for the same group of people, and this is one of those
I explain more on my tutorial video and I hope you check it out. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
