This effect is good, I think. But I have a problem with the promo. It says no faros are required.
This just isn't true. He does not mention an alternative to the faro. And his teaching of the faro
is skimpy. More detail would have helped. How much angle? How much pressure? He's vague and says
that it pretty much "happens automatically." Really? Not helpful advice that, though his advice to
angle the cards is helpful. I can do a table faro with a single deck, but two decks is another
matter. I've worked on this 100+ times. It does not happen automatically. Yet. Maybe it just needs
more work. Maybe I'll go for a regular faro which seems easier. I like the effect enough to keep
working, so I guess that it is a plus for Electro.
A side note: working on faros, I've
found that regular faros (butting ends, etc.) are easier with new decks. For some strange reason
(in my experience, at least), table faros are easier with older, worn decks. I think it has to do
with the stiffness of the cards. So . . . maybe try using old decks if you decide to do Electro (?)
A faro is used when I perform it, but it does not need to be perfect. That's what is meant in the ad copy. No perfect faros are required. Additionally, we do offer alternatives including just a normal riffle shuffle.
I also offered a few different effects with a single deck and a few photos that do not require any type of faro.
