I bought Smoked 2.0 for a gift (as well as wanting to see it in one of Penguins cool packaging
videos lol), and while I may be a tad bit biased, I got to say I love the effect & reactions it
gets. When you tear apart the pack that was shown completely full just moments before, jaws
literally drop! Seriously, it's one of my favorite effects to perform (even if I hadn't played a
played a part in its creation). :)
Is the pack you tear apart ruining the gimmick?
Sounds like you have to destroy a cigarette package with each performance. At $8 a pop, that would get pretty expensive.
No, you don't have to destroy a pack with each performance, but it does make for an impressive presentation! If you want, you can just make them disappear & show the pack empty or you can actually change the cigarettes into pretty much anything else that fits inside the pack - not destruction of the pack necessary. That said, I found that it's pretty easy to collect empty packs from someone that does smoke (which I don't anymore). I just offer to buy the smoker a free pack for every 20 empty ones they give me (which for some people only takes a week or two). Hope you check it out! The gimmick is quite clever & will last for a looooooong time. :)
