The newest release from the Greater Magic Video Library is also the first ever instructional material of this classic effect. Learn and enjoy Gene Anderson's well thought out routine. Learn from master, Billy McComb and his great routine with a simple Die Box. See many rare collectible Die Boxes form the "crypt" of Joe Stevens and how they work. Fed Baisch -- a hard working "pro," performs two different types of Die Boxes. Karrell Fox--The Foxy One-- presents his own special routine with an Abbott's Die Box.

Dust off your Die Box, and get ready to put it to work! It's not the Die Box that makes it entertaining and mystifying, but rather the routine and presentations!

I enjoyed this DVD as it gave me several performances to look at and all the work on the Die Box you would ever need. It helped me to develop my own routine and gave me the oportunity to see some of the legends in this business use this prop. If you are looking to add a good routine with the Die Box to your material this is a great place to start as there are not a lot of DVD's on the subject of the die box making it a further valuable resource.

It isn't that the material in this DVD is bad, because it isn't bad. It is just dated. I felt the performances were set up as magicians performing for magicians, which is a different feel than performing for non-magicians. The die box is (obviously) a classic; I was a bit disappointed that the performances weren't smoother and more polished. A couple of the performances had slip-ups. The "explanations" were more or less obvious for anyone that isn't a raw beginner, IMHO.

At this price, a disappointment. There are miles of difference between 2004 production polish to 2023's; maybe the depreciation could have been taken in to account.

Still, being a device that got me in to magic (I was blown away as a child), the topic is timeless and interesting.
