The routines on this project are quite good. Nothing fantastic though.
The markings on the
cards are so obvious though. I found them extremely quickly.
They make a point about how devious
they are but it took my partner (a non magician) less than 10 seconds to firstly make the assumption
that the routine used marked cards and then easily and accurately discover what they were.
Not
massively impressed with this. Will be sticking to other marked cards.
Your partner isn't an everyday non magician. You have shown them multiple magic methods or tricks and they are experienced enough to have an idea of what they're looking for. Any s/o or partner of a magician has some experience in these areas.
You can have the most obvious marking system, and still get away with it when used correctly.
This is a poor comment. It lowers the standard to "obvious marking system." Even though your last sentence is true, it doesn't mean the marking system SHOULD be obvious.
I recommend the use of multiple methodologies, such as a stack, to cancel each other out. Check out Max Maven's Symbalance on Video Mind II as an example. In addition, if your audience members even suspect a marked deck, you did something wrong. These are the best ESP cards to date.
