It isn't that the material in this DVD is bad, because it isn't bad. It is just dated. I felt the
performances were set up as magicians performing for magicians, which is a different feel than
performing for non-magicians. The die box is (obviously) a classic; I was a bit disappointed that
the performances weren't smoother and more polished. A couple of the performances had slip-ups.
The "explanations" were more or less obvious for anyone that isn't a raw beginner, IMHO.
At this price, a disappointment. There are miles of difference between 2004 production polish
to 2023's; maybe the depreciation could have been taken in to account.
Still, being a
device that got me in to magic (I was blown away as a child), the topic is timeless and interesting.
